I often find myself doing the same thing and I think it's because my creative mind is trying to find the beautiful art in every single thing. Either that or I'm trying to distract myself from reality just a tiny bit. Maybe it's a little bit of both. I also do think it's a little dangerous because then there is the chance that I'm looking so deeply into everything even when it doesn't matter. What will my poor heart become then?</p>
<p>I think Questioning everything at times is okay, it keeps us on our toes and breaks the routine we're in. I love to be curious, know all the “whys” and the “whats” and the “whens”, but we gotta know when knowing is too much. Sometimes knowing isn't good for us and yet we still question everything. To little curious ol’ us and continuing to keep going.</p></div></div></div></div></div></div>

It is very easy to overlook seemingly small things in life like the example Rose gave of raindrops on a window. While this may seem like a meaningless everyday occurrence, it can be interesting to look at those raindrops from a different perspective. Consider how amazing it is that we are alive on the one planet in the entire galaxy that is known to be able to support advanced forms of life. The fact that we are even able to see raindrops on a window is itself an incredible thing. Another perspective is by looking at the structure of the raindrop itself. Each raindrop is ever-so-slightly different than the rest. There is a lot we can learn from and be thankful for by thinking deeply about something that may seem like an unimportant phenomenon. Thank you for pushing me to think about my surroundings... I hope to continue using this perspective into my everyday life.

<h2 class="x-text-content-text-primary">Christopher</h2></div></div></div><div class="x-text x-content e761-e5 ml5-g"><p>How do I do things, to what end?</p>
<p>I recently ended an artist statement like this:</p>
<p>Mystery is the context which allows questions to exist. Mystery fills me with a sense of vitality; there is life in questions.</p>
<p>The statement as a whole was vague and left questions. Am I ready to know?</p>
<p>I appreciate the perspective of finding solace and direction in questions as they are reflected back by all aspects of life.</p>
<p>That is a direction I want to go in; to live in the present life of questions, being awake to the richness of not knowing, not just the burning desire for answers.</p>
<p>I do feel the desire for answers and that does create conflict within me. It’s difficult to surrender to the big mystery. It is difficult to let go of the idea that answers will give me the sense of security I crave.</p>
<p>Would empathy exist without questions? If I am open to the question of something I can empathize. How do you feel?</p>
<p><strong> A Last Note: </strong></p>

<h2 class="x-text-content-text-primary">Emil</h2></div></div></div><div class="x-text x-content e749-e5 mkt-b"><p>When I was younger, and I was in the car in the rain, I would watch the rain run down the glass, picking different drops and watching to see which one ended up being the ""winner."" I don't know what the winner achieved, other than being the first to drip down into the base of the window, but it gave me a thrill of the anticipation of which would reach the bottom first. Even now there are times where I find myself watching the rain, feeling a sense of nostalgia as the rain patters down.</p>
<p>I always felt so vindicated when I chose the right raindrop, feeling as though I, myself, was the victor. I feel as though it's only natural to see yourself in things, even to the point where you feel as though there's a part of yourself in every little thing you see. You want to see yourself in the world and in others, you want to not be alone, even if it means putting yourself out there and putting yourself in others. <br />
The rain is a natural starting point, who hasn't had a moment of watching as the trails down the glass.</p></div></div></div></div></div><div class="x-section e749-e6 mkt-0 mkt-2"><div class="x-row x-container max width e749-e7 mkt-3 mkt-5 mkt-7"><div class="x-row-inner"><div class="x-col e749-e8 mkt-9"><a class="x-anchor x-anchor-button e749-e9 mkt-c" tabindex="0" href="https://rosebsimpson.unmam.art/2021/09/01/week-6-c3/"><div class="x-anchor-content"><div class="x-anchor-text"><span class="x-anchor-text-primary">Next Student Reply</span></div></div></a></div></div></div></div></div>

<h2 class="x-text-content-text-primary">Josiah</h2></div></div></div><div class="x-text x-content e747-e5 mkr-b"><p>For this week’s prompt, my interpretation for watching the rain drops on the windshield and picking the one that is certain to fall first as if it was some type of game, to me shows each individual life that you may have encountered. Each drop that hits the windshield starts off as a small droplet, and as you know as time goes on (granted it’s just for a moment) more droplets hit the windshield, some combining together making it heavy enough to slide down. Those droplets represent each individual’s life, we bring new people into our life’s, we gain new experiences, new skills, new opportunities slowly growing and growing just as each individual droplet on the windshield. As Rose said, “…I relate to that bean of water and her momentous journey”, that is where I feel like each life is represented in the droplets, some fall straight down, others are absorbed into new life, and others may hit and fall into a new direction. Life is represented that way, everyone has their own journey, their own experiences, their own destiny, and in the end, life all ends the same way as the droplet, it disperses and gets absorbed into our earth.</p>
<p>The artwork of Rose B Simpson’s, “Low Rider, 2012” represents to me is life. As a Hispanic male, low riders are represented within the Hispanic community, and since the “body” of the car is represented as a person, to me that represents one’s life. Just as a vehicle it continues to move from point A to point B, sometimes having to take detours, unnecessary stops, and obstacles to maintain the vehicle, but eventually leading you to your destination. Just like in life.</p></div></div></div></div></div><div class="x-section e747-e6 mkr-0 mkr-2"><div class="x-row x-container max width e747-e7 mkr-3 mkr-5 mkr-7"><div class="x-row-inner"><div class="x-col e747-e8 mkr-9"><a class="x-anchor x-anchor-button e747-e9 mkr-c" tabindex="0" href="https://rosebsimpson.unmam.art/2021/09/01/week-6-c2/"><div class="x-anchor-content"><div class="x-anchor-text"><span class="x-anchor-text-primary">Next Student Reply</span></div></div></a></div></div></div></div></div>
